The 2010-2023 Lexus GX460 Prado 5th Wheel Rear Door Conversion brings the best of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado to the GX460. Many parts from the Japanese/Australian market Toyota Prado cross over with it's US counterpart, the GX460. The rear door with a fifth wheel rear tire carrier is no exception and an excellent OEM like 5th wheel mounting option.
The Prado 5th Wheel Rear Door Conversion includes:
- 5th Wheel Rear Door Panel
- Rear Door Glass w/ Defroster
- Plastic Interior Panels (Tan or Black)
- 5th Wheel Rear Wheel Carrier Components
- Rear Tire Cover and Badging
- Rear Handle Cover / License Plate Housing
This kit is VERY complete, but WILL require a body shop or skilled installer for a proper end result. That said, there is NO major modifications needed and addresses the challenge of mounting a 5th wheel with a factory like solution.

- Maximum confirmed wheel/tire size for the Prado 5th Wheel Rear Door Conversion is 33in without a spacer and 35in with a spacer.
- The Prado 5th Wheel Rear Door Conversion reuses the OEM GX460 hinges, latches, door shock, rear defroster, exterior lock / unlock buttons, rear spoiler and rear wiper.
- Many GX460s have two tone paneling from the factory. The interior panels from the GX460 do NOT fit the Prado 5th Wheel Rear Door Conversion. Plastic interior panels are included, but are only available in solid black or solid tan.
- The Prado 5th Wheel Rear Door Conversion LOSES the ability to open the rear flip up glass window. The rear glass window on the Prado 5th Wheel Rear Door Conversion is fixed in place.
- The Prado 5th Wheel Rear Door Conversion requires relocation of the reverse camera. There are many aftermarket options for this. We installed a universal aftermarket camera centered on the rear spoiler (below the third brake light) and ran the wiring inside the the door at time of install.
- The Prado 5th Wheel Rear Door Conversion requires the rear defroster wiring to be extended.
- The Prado 5th Wheel Rear Door Conversion is drilled for a Japanese sized license plate. A USDM license plate will fit, but requires a JDM to USDM License Plate Adapter Bracket.
- The Prado 5th Wheel Rear Door Conversion requires the plastic Rear Handle Cover / License Plate Housing to be drilled/dremeled to house the OEM lock / unlock buttons.
- The Prado 5th Wheel Rear Door Conversion includes a chrome 'Land Cruiser Prado' badge for the license plate holder and a chrome oval Toyota emblem. The demo vehicle shown on our site had those pieces PlastiDipped black. There may be oval OEM Lexus emblems that fit. The oval emblem size is 5.5in x 3.75in.
- The Prado 5th Wheel Rear Door Conversion is not OEM Toyota parts. They are however high quality aftermarket components that meet quality standards equal to or beyond components you would receive from most collision (CAPA standard).
- The Prado 5th Wheel Rear Door Conversion ships on a pallet. Shipping runs between $400-$600 to the continental 48 states. Please reach out for a quote. It is recommended to have the item shipped directly to your body shop / installer. This saves a little bit of money on shipping and avoids having to transport it yourself.
- Paint and install cost vary widely. But we usually use $300-$500 per body panel as a rough estimate for paint cost. It is worth it to call around, get a couple quotes and line up your body shop before you purchase.
